American Hat Company Welcomes the Voices of the West

February 13, 2025

They’re the ones who keep the crowd fired up, the riders informed, and the event rolling.

Bob Tallman

Texas: In the world of rodeo, the right voice can make all the difference. American Hat Company is proud to partner with some of the most respected PRCA announcers in the industry—Bob Tallman, Boyd Polhamus, Wayne Brooks, and Roger Mooney—whose voices have echoed through packed arenas, calling the greatest moments in the sport. We’re also thrilled to welcome Cowboy Channel and PRCA Pro Rodeo host Justin McKee, a true storyteller who brings the action to life for fans across the country.

Additionally, we are proud to announce the renewal of our partnership with PRCA and PBR announcer Garrett Yerigan, a rising star who continues to set the standard for the next generation of rodeo broadcasters. These announcers don’t just call the action; they capture the spirit, energy, and tradition of rodeo—just like American Hat Company has done for over a century.

We are proud to continue our partnership with PRCA announcer Greg Simas, a seasoned voice in rodeo who brings passion, authenticity, and unmatched professionalism to every event. Just like American Hat Company, he represents tradition, excellence, and a deep respect for the industry we love.

From the bucking chutes to the broadcast booth, these voices shape the sport, and we’re honored to have them under the brim of American Hat Company—where tradition meets the modern cowboy.

Keith Mundee, President of the company said, “At American Hat Company, we have always aligned ourselves with the very best in the Western industry—those who not only embody the values of rodeo but also elevate the sport with their passion and dedication. Partnering with legendary voices like Bob Tallman, Boyd Polhamus, Wayne Brooks, Roger Mooney, and Justin McKee, along with renewing our partnership with Garrett Yerigan, is truly an honor. These announcers are the heartbeat of rodeo, bringing the action, the emotion, and the legacy of the sport to life for fans everywhere. Just as our hats are built to last, these voices have stood the test of time, shaping the history of rodeo one call at a time. We couldn’t be prouder to have them as part of the American Hat family.”

Stan Redding, Vice President of sales and marketing said, “There’s no question that these announcers are the gold standard in rodeo. Bob Tallman, Boyd Polhamus, Wayne Brooks, Roger Mooney, Justin McKee, and Garrett Yerigan aren’t just voices behind the mic—they are the storytellers, the historians, and the energy that keep rodeo fans on the edge of their seats. Their passion for the sport aligns perfectly with our commitment to quality, tradition, and the Western way of life. We’re proud to have them wearing American Hat and look forward to continuing to support the voices that bring rodeo to life.”

When asked about partnering with the iconic brand, Bob Tallman said, “In a person’s lifetime, if your involvement is massive, you get to work with awesome people!!! Me, Boyd, Roger and Wayne, have had many opportunities to represent many awesome companies and product lines. American Hat Company will be the pinnacle of hat products and management that we are all super excited to represent in the western industry!!!”

Boyd Polhamus

“What an honor it is to be able to work with this company. Since 1915, when it was born in the heart of Texas, American Hat Company has always strived to be the ultimate standard! Whether you’re pushing a herd of cattle or tipping your hat after a 90 point ride, American Hat proves you belong there. It means the world to me that American Hat believes I belong.” said Boyd Polhamus.

Wayne Brooks

“Having a superior business like the American Hat Company takes precision. The right people, great customer service and an outstanding product. As a representative of the announcers, we hope and intend to take it to the next level. What a pleasure to be involved in the future success of this great organization.” said Wayne Brooks.

Roger Mooney

“The most recognized symbol of America worldwide is indeed the cowboy hat. It makes good sense that this cowboy wears an American hat. Humbled to represent, flattered to be a part, and proud to be an ambassador. Our western way of life enjoys positive times wearing American Hats.” said Roger Mooney

Justin McKee

Cowboy Channel and PRCA Pro Rodeo host Justin McKee said, “American Hat Company is the standard when it comes to promoting our way of life. It’s not just an amazing product, it’s the values they stand for that mean the most to me. I am looking forward to working with American Hat Company to continue spreading the good news about our proud Cowboy Heritage and Patriotism.”

Garrett Yerigan

Long time American Hat Company member, Garrett Yerigan said, “I have been proud to be a member of the American Hat family for over a decade and now to be joined by some of my most distinguished colleagues just makes me that much more honored to wear the best hat ever made. Bob, Boyd, Wayne, Roger and Justin have pioneered our sport of rodeo into many new milestones. I look forward to this new chapter in American Hat’s history book. +x”

The Voices of Rodeo, Under One Legendary Brim: With a legacy built on quality, tradition, and a deep-rooted passion for the Western way of life, American Hat Company is honored to stand alongside the voices that bring rodeo to life. Bob Tallman, Boyd Polhamus, Wayne Brooks, Roger Mooney, Justin McKee, and Garrett Yerigan have dedicated their careers to shaping the sport, just as we have dedicated ours to crafting the finest cowboy hats in the industry.
