Texas: To further expand their elite roster of rodeo athletes, American Hat Company, makers of the finest cowboy hat in the world, is welcoming one of the most reputable PRCA athletes, Jake Barnes, to the American Hat Company family. Jake Barnes and his heeler Clay O’Brien Cooper set the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) team roping average record with a time of 59.1 seconds on 10 head. Barnes then was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1997, received the Legends of Rodeo Award in 2006 and became a 7x world champion team roper.

Keith Mundee, President of the company said, “When I first heard that Jake Barnes was interested in representing American Hat Company my immediate response was yes! The team of Jake and Clay are the most recognizable names in the world of Team Roping. Jake continues to do roping clinics across the country where he shares his love for the sport of team roping. We are excited to have Jake Barnes as part of the American Hat family.”

Stan Redding, Vice President of sales and marketing said, “’One of the top focus points of American Hat Company is the up and coming youth rodeo athletes. No one fills the role of mentorship better than Jake Barnes. He is a cornerstone of the team roping world and the PRCA. American Hat Company is proud to partner with Jake. We know what he brings to the show.”

When asked about partnering with the iconic brand, Barnes said, “I’m proud to be a cowboy and proud to be an American and proud to wear my American Hat!”
